Weight-related discrimination in the U.S. is common and is associated with substantial social, economic, and health costs. Allegra Gordon (she/her), ScD, MPH, Assistant Professor at Boston University’s School of Public Health and Jamie Dannenberg (she/they), MS, RD, LDN, outpatient eating disorder dietitian at Metrowest Nutrition and co-creator of thirdwheelED, invite you to explore how we can improve health outcomes of LGBTQIA+ patients through a weight-inclusive approach to healthcare. This webinar will offer an introduction to the current state of the science on weight stigma and its effects on health, as well as critical insights on weight stigma in relation to LGBTQIA+ identities. Participants will come away from the webinar with concrete recommendations for creating a weight-inclusive medical practice.
